Riot has delayed the launch of »Team Voice« – a team-wide voice chat feature for League of Legends. The feature was originally set to launch with Patch 26.20 on October 7, 2026, starting in North America and Oceania. According to an announcement from the dev team on social media on September 22, the feature has now been pulled from that patch.
Riot has not given a new date.
What Team Voice was supposed to bring
»Team Voice« was planned as an extension of the existing party voice chat: instead of only talking to friends invited beforehand, players would be able to talk with their entire team – including randomly matched teammates. According to reporting, the delay came only around two weeks after the feature was first announced.
The existing party voice chat between previously invited friends is unaffected by the delay and remains available as before.

Riot's reasoning stays vague
Riot's only stated reason is that the feature needs to "meet the quality bar" the community deserves – the studio has not given a concrete technical or content-related explanation. Riot also hasn't commented on a revised timeline so far.
