On the final matchday of the LEC Summer Split 2026, GiantX faced Fnatic – top laner Oscarinin's first game against his former team since the move. In the interview afterward, he spoke openly about playing through a fever, his outlook on his time at Fnatic, the team's lack of consistency – and the playoff opener against KC.

GiantX won the match 2-1 – securing Oscarinin a direct spot in the top four, and ending Fnatic's playoff hopes for good.
"I Think I Just Played Bad"
RunItDown: Congrats on locking in the top four first. I'm an ADC, so all I know about bruisers is watching them run people down – walk me through the Camille-into-Olaf matchup, it looked a bit shaky at times. Where exactly did it go wrong, and how did your game plan shift afterward?
Oscarinin: I think I played bad, obviously. I've had a fever the last few days, feeling really shit – not a good situation.
On the matchup itself: early on Olaf should be winning, but it's not that easy. The hard part is when Camille gets a bounce onto Olaf, because it's sometimes hard to crash – he can run you down, and you might need help from jungle. But you outscale pretty fast on one item, you should already be really strong by then.
If the early game goes decently, it's actually a pretty good matchup, because Camille is really strong later in fights, especially with follow-up. You can also just ult the Olaf away – he can't do anything then, and your team just kills him. He's pretty useless without access to the backline.
"It Was Kind of Personal for Me"
RunItDown: Zooming out – this was your first time playing against Fnatic since joining GiantX. Did you mark this game differently on your calendar than the others? More prep, more nerves?
Oscarinin: Not really. For me it is a bit more special, I guess. But with being sick and feeling really bad, I couldn't really make it feel special – I didn't feel like myself, very slow, weak, not with good attention. It's just harder. I would have liked to play better, because yeah, it is kind of personal, I guess you could say.
RunItDown: You've also knocked them out of playoff contention with this. Is that extra motivation, or how does it feel – like you've shown them they should have kept you?

Oscarinin: I mean, I did want to kick them from playoffs, for sure. I mean, I just feel like it's funny. I mean, I don't think it matters a lot, or, like, they should have kept me or something like that. It is what it is, you know? Like, I don't think this changes much, but I like kicking them from playoffs after all that happened, for sure.
RunItDown: Now that you've had your first full LEC split with a team that's not named Fnatic – has your view of your time there changed, compared to, say, six months ago?
Oscarinin: No, not really. I still kind of see it the same way, at least the last year there. I think I always reflect on it after every split that ends, so it usually doesn't change how I see it.
"We Just Need to Not F*** Up Early Lanes"
RunItDown: After the SK game back in week one, you said GiantX always had the potential for a deep playoff run, maybe even Worlds. That did shine through at times, but it felt too inconsistent overall. Where would you put the biggest point to improve right now to get that consistency – if you could fix one thing, where would you start?
Oscarinin: I think we all just need to be energetic, have good comps, and not f*** up early lanes – I think that's our biggest issue sometimes, trolling early lanes and then having a really hard time after. But when we're even, I think we actually play better than the enemy team, so those are the things we need to work on.
RunItDown: Is that more of a lane-stability thing, or about figuring out which side is the weak one and which is the strong one?
Oscarinin: I don't think it's all that. I think we clarify that pretty well in-game. It's more about playing the lanes well, jungle skirmishes and stuff – I think it's on our execution.
"Fifty-Fifty, Either We Do or We Don't"
With the win, GX's first-round playoff opponent is locked in: KC (Karmine Corp) – who beat GX 2-0 the last time the two teams met in the regular season.
RunItDown: Your playoff matchup in the first round is locked in – KC has chosen you. If you had to put a percentage on it, how high would you rate your chances?
Oscarinin: Fifty-fifty, honestly. Either we do or we don't.
RunItDown: Do you think a best-of-five gives you an edge over them, especially considering your last match against them was a pretty clear 0-2?

Oscarinin: I'm not sure a Bo5 helps us. I think we have a good champion pool across the board, but so do they. It's more about how we prepare for each individual game – after each game we talk, figure out priorities. The 0-2 in the regular split doesn't really say much about our level, because we played really, really badly that series. I think we'll do better. But yeah, KC is obviously a very good team – we're still coming for them.
RunItDown: You're playing in the MKOI arena, but still in Spain – does that give you a bit of a home-crowd boost, or do you tune out the crowd and everything around you when you're playing?
Oscarinin: I usually play better with huge crowds at these events – not sure if it's the chants or what, but I really like that. We'll see, maybe it repeats what happened in game five in Madrid last time. Hopefully we will.
RunItDown: Last question: why are you going to stomp Canna next week?
Oscarinin: Like last time, he doesn't know what's coming – no one believed it, and it still happened.
